Hi All - Hoping for some help in resolving this issue.
Over the course of a couple weeks now, I have been trying to install Windows Server 2016 in a VirtualBox instance and continue to receive this error:
"Windows cannot install required files. The file may be corrupt or missing. Make sure all files required for installation are available, and restart the installation. Error code: 0x80070570"
Things that have been attempted thus far:
1. upwards of 20 different downloads of the ISO. Microsoft Imagine, Technet, other various downloads...
2. Have checked the Hashes, and they come back A-OK.
3. Reinstalled Host Operating System with WIN10
4. Confirmed Virtualization is enabled within my Asus P6T V2 MB BIOS
5. Downloaded ISO from different location
Configuration:
1. 1 SSD in first SATA Bay
2. 1 HDD in my second SATA bay
3. I7 (2007 model, don't remember the exact model)
4. 16 GB Corsair RAM
5. NVIDIA 680 VGA
6. MB - Asus P6T V2
7. OS - Windows 10
Looking for any help out there that may help me w/ this issue. Driving me crazy not being able to fix it.
Thanks in advance - Twinz

I would go with the obvious - a corrupted ISO. The number of times you've downloaded this is not evidence that the file is not corrupted. An MD5 checksum matching that of the download site would be evidence of an uncorrupted ISO. Is this what you mean by "checking the hashes"?Twinz wrote: "Windows cannot install required files. Beyond that, I think you need to contact Microsoft to get Win 2016 installer support.

Thanks mpack - Yes, I have checked the MD5 checksums on more than a few of the ISO files and still running into problems. The install will sometimes fail around 2%, other times it will get up to 20-30% and then fail. Very strange.
I'll look into contacting MS for support.
Thank you,

My primary disk is an SSD. So I just enabled the "Solid State Drive" tick for the VDI and it solved the issue. Weird.

FYI: I had to remove the "Windows Sandbox" feature as apparently VBOX is not compatible with Hyper-V

On the right track! Sandbox uses hardware virtualization and prevents other things (such as VirtualBox) from using it, just as Hyper-V does.

The new test builds might have a fix for this problem. If you try a test build and it works, report here: viewtopic.php?f=6&t=90853, and save the installer file.
