Searching the PDF of the Virtualbox manual shows that 'vboxsf' is only related to Guest Additions Shared Folders.
So you won't find a usable 'vboxsf' group on your host PC, and you have to install Guest Additions successfully in the guest to get an automatic 'vboxsf' group made.
Regrettably I can't offer more specific information, as you don't mention whether it's the host, the physical PC, or the guest, the VM, that you're looking for 'vboxsf' on.

Guest Additions should be installed in the guest, the VM. They should not be installed on the host. Otherwise they'd be called Host Additions.
If you installed Guest Additions in the host PC, then uninstall them and hope nothing's broken.
