Windows XP SP3 shutdown Issues

Post by soulskater »

I have a couple of issues with my Windows XP installations under VB.

The foremost issue I'm having is when a issue a system shutdown, when the system is almost shutdown and the final signal for ACPI shutdown is sent VB changes it's title on the VM adding Closing to it, there it just sits without continue to do the complete shutdown. This issue has emerged after i installed SP3 and all the latest patches for Windows. I first thought it was that specific machine and installed a new one from scratch, to my disbelief that one experience the same issue.

The second issue i have is that sometime when i start my host from scratch and start a VM the bridge network interfaces doesn't work and the VM is extremely sluggish and i have to kill it and restart it all over again, when i do this sometime the Close Virtual Machine dialog pops up just as the VM enters the graphical portion av Windows and i have to restart the Host to get rid of this behavior.

Can't find any log information that could help with these issues.

Here is Information on my Host and VM:s:

Host:
OS: Ubuntu 8.04 (2.6.24-19-generic)
VB: 2.0.2

VM:
OS: Windows XP SP3 Eng. and all available patches, Domain dependent.

What could it be and how do i fix it?

/Marcus
