Hi guys,
my virtualbox-6.1 won't install itself under Debian, because of this:
The following packages have unmet dependencies:
virtualbox-6.1 : Depends: python (< 2.8) but it is not installable
Depends: python (>= 2.7) but it is not installable
Depends: python:any (>= 2.6.6-7~)
Recommends: linux-image but it is not installable
E: Unable to correct problems, you have held broken packages.
which is weird, since installed is:
python2.7 is already the newest version (2.7.18-1)
I also got python 3.8 and 3.9. and 2.8.
Any idea on this? I can wait for the next release, since I have Windows again up and running. Thanks for the help about this.
Cheers,
Dirk.
Linux Debendencies
Re: Linux Debendencies
Hi guys,
okay, I figured a soution for me out. I just used the genereric 64BitLinux Version, which doesn't have all the flaws of the packed version. I even could remove python2, and it still works. Still got a problem with the installation, since it won't offer the Do you want to disable secure boot? Which I obviously don't, kicked it, called config after the install, it compiled the drivers and after signing the drivers with the mok, it runs like before.
I would change it to solved. I will never bother with the packed version again.
Cheers,
Dirk.
