Windows guest unusably slow after turning off hyper-v

Post by searchfgold6789 »

Hi all,

It seems this is a recurring issue in this forum. I have been through the "I have a 64bit host, but can't install 64bit guests" post with no luck. Unfortunately, that particular forum thread lacks detail. Perhaps someone could walk me through step 3, post 1, and step 2, post 2, in order to take advantage of this software's basic functions?

I remember things were fine until I messed around with some "additional Windows features" yesterday. However, I changed things back and disabled "hyper-v" in both the host and the guest settings, and I still see just a black screen with some artifacts for 10+ minutes.

What could be interfering with the VM's performance? (log in vbox.zip)

In my particular case, I had to turn off the hyper-v Windows features, reboot, then run the command and reboot TWICE. Now, no turtle anymore. Hooray and thanks.
