I'm running server 2016 STD as a VM on a Windows 10 host.
The host has a RAIDED nvme drive Array. I benchmarked them with PassMark and they rated in the 99% percentile, and as a metric the seq. read score was 3386. When I ran PassMark on the server VM in rated in 50% percentile and read score 550. In device manager I see the Base System Device is missing? I enabled solid-state in the SATA drive and benched marked it again and it was slower yet.
can anyone help?

Then why post in the "Other Hosts" forum? Topic moved to "Windows Hosts".DaveSny wrote:I'm running server 2016 STD as a VM on a Windows 10 host
Don't run automated benchmarks inside a VM.: timers are shared with the host. Use a stopwatch.
Or just don't bother: VirtualBox is a piece of software running on the host, and like all such software, disk I/O is done by the host. Performance will not deviate by much from what the host can do.
Any further discussion will require a zipped VM log.
