Some USB device don't work

Hello!

I'm using the latest version of Virtual Box on Ubuntu 20.04. The guest OS is Windows10.
Some of my USB drivers work, others don't. For example, I can access an FTDI device (one
that has an FTDI USB to serial converter), by selecting it from Devices -> USB.
For other devices, even if I select them (and although they seem to be recognized
because they are in the devices -> USB menu), I simply can't connect with the device.

Could anybody give me pointers to what I should check?

Best regards,

Pascal

Go through USB basics and troubleshooting. If steps 1 through 7 cannot get your device working, please provide the troubleshooting command outputs in step 8, as text in

Code: Select all

tags. Also zip and post the requested vbox.log, using the forum's Upload Attachment tab.

Hello!

Thanks for your reply.
In fact, I spent a lot of time on my first install that I didn't know exactly what I was doing (I'm still
not confident that I do know), so this time I have installed a new virtual machine with matching
extension and guest additions, and it works like magic.
Sorry for the mess!
For those who might get the same kind of problem, I'm not sure exactly what I did wrong first, but
be sure to download the virtual box soft and addition with matching versions. That should run at once.
