Error message - please help

Post by bgoodman4 »

I successfully created a Win XP VM and was just about finished setting up my programs on it ( The machine will be used only for running Lotus 123). I closed the program in order to access my 123 data files for transfer to the XP VM but when I tried to open it again it failed to open. I have attached a screen shot of my details regarding the machine and the error message that was generated by the failure to open. Is it possible to remedy this issue or will I have to create the VM from scratch? Any assistance will be most appreciated.

PS: I thought I was being smart by creating a snapshot of the VM before installing 123. Unfortunately, and to my dismay, reverting to the snapshot failed to resolve the problem. I now believe that I should have exported the appliance. If I had I think I would be OK now as I would have been able to recover it. Am I correct in this or is the problem deeper than an appliance export/import would resolve.

PPS: I had been running 123 in win 7 (you can see the machine in the attached) but I keep having the program freeze on me as noted in another thread. This is why I am trying to create the XP VM.

PPPS: the host machine is running win 10.

Some developments with this problem. I have no idea how I did it but the storage info under details no longer indicates inaccessible (see attached labeled new 1). Now when I try to open the VM I get the attachment labeled new 2 provided below. Does this help? Is it easier to fix or just a different problem?

Well, I gave up on this and created a new XP VM, all going well until I tried to export the appliance, it fails. I will start a new thread for this new problem.
