Hi,
I'm using Virtualbox rel. 6.0.22-137980. Opening it, it warns me that Rel 6.1.12-139181 is available, but the link inside the warning window is not active and downloading latest release directly from website, I'm not able to install it because of an violation error not specified (i'm using GDebi to install package).
Does everyone could suggest a possible solution?

Have you tried to update it straight from Ubuntu repos?
It may be that original install via Ubuntu which means you'll have Ubuntu forked version(s) of VirtualBox, in which case you'll need to go to Ubuntu Forums for assistance. I'm unfamiliar with gdebi package installer.
Other possible workarounds is to walk the upgrades via gdebi, upgrade to 6.024, then 6.1.0, ~.2, ~4,,, etc., providing each one is success.

Unfortunately, your solution didn't give me a good result.
The only solution was remove Virtualbox completely and re-install it.
Now I'm using the latest release.
