I am running VirtualBox Version 6.1.12 r139181 (Qt5.6.2) on Windows 10.
The first time I boot a particular Windows 10 VM that includes a saved state, not powered-off, it crashes with the following error message:
virtualboxvm.exe the instruction at 0x0000... referenced memory at 0x0000... The memory could not be read. Click on OK to terminate the program.
After the crash when I try to reboot the VM it runs glacially slow and is unusable. This also happens when I boot a windows VM that was powered off.
I have attached a VM log for a win vm boot failure/crash with this post.
Linux VMs with saved states also crash on boot with the same error message.
I have done a repair on my VirtualBox installation with no affect.
Any guidance on what I can do to make VirtualBox usable again?
thanks
