Guest Additions update to 6.1.12 stopped both my Windows 7 guests (32bit & 64bit) from starting. All my other guests seem OK (XP and various Linux dists)
Any ideas?

That has been reported a few times. Start your guests in Safe mode, uninstall the Guest Additions, reboot the guests, and try Guest Additions 6.1.10:
