Mac OSX Guest - Keyboard and mouse

Post by Mr Cheese »

Hi.
I am attempting to setup a Mac guest with Catalina on Virtualbox 6.1.12r139181. I have also installed the latest Extension Pack.
I am having a problems with the mouse and keyboard.
The mouse jumps around such that a small movement jumps from one end of the guests screen to the other, and is impossible to use.
The keyboard behavior is such that every key seems to repeat dozens of times, and also not usable.
Due to this I am not able to navigate the installation process for the guest OS.
Seeking assistance to what to do about this.
Thanks for any suggestions.

Windows host OS running a Mac guest is only allowed if the physical computer is real Mac hardware.
OSX guests on non-Apple hardware.

If your physical computer is a Mac, start the guest from full normal shutdown, not save-state. Run until you see the problem happen, then shut down the guest from within the guest OS if possible. If not possible, close the Virtualbox window for the guest with the Power Off option set.

Right-click the guest in the main Virtualbox window's guest list, choose Show Log. Save the far left tab's log, zip it, and post the zip file, using the forum's Upload Attachment tab.
