Quick mouse capturing question?

Hi all,
first post. long time vmw user - cannot believe how good virtual box is!
I have found it faster and better than vmw ever performed.
The only little thing I have found when working in windows XP sp2+ is that <alt>+Button1 does not work - the <alt> keypress is registered - ie you see the _'s appear in the menulists etc, and of itself Button1 works fine too..
But when I want to (for example) zoom out in Adobe CS3 with the Zoom tool selected, Button1 will zoom in but <alt> Button1 does nothing.
When I make the mouse a dedicated capture the problem is solved.
This also happens when you want to duplicate an object by selecting it with the <alt> key depressed and dragging off the duplicate. Once again with no result unless the mouse is dedicated capture...
I have done a bit of a search here and can't say if it is a problem since 2.0.2 does anybody relate>?
I am running on Gentoo:
and running the 2.0.2 Sun Virtual Box for Linux Hosts.
All other systems are working fine including networking (bnridged and NAT) and USB etc.
