Unable to Install VBox Guest Additions Using Genymotion Android VM on Debian 10 Host
Unable to Install VBox Guest Additions Using Genymotion Android VM on Debian 10 Host
I'm running VBox 6.0.24 on host Debian 10 Buster. I'm unable to drag files from the host desktop to the android VM even though I have Shared Folders configured in VBox settings to do so. I see that Guest Additions must be installed in order to share folders. When I open Vbox, select the android VM and open it, the android VM opens properly, but it is accompanied by a slew of error messages on the Vbox screen saying "init: Could not find service hosting interface android.hardware...." and "error: rate limit exceeded". If I ignore these error messages and go to Devices > Insert Guest Additions CD Image, I get an error message saying "Could not insert the usr/share virtualbox/VBoxGuestAdditions.iso disk image file into the virtual machine Android." I checked the .iso file folder location and it is there in its entirety. Why can't I install Guest Additions and could someone help me figure out how to accomplish this?

Since there are no Guest Additions for Android I'd say that difficulty installing them is hardly a huge shock.
RTFM, particularly section 4.2. This tells you which guest OS's are supported with Guest Additions.

Ok thanks. I guess I have no choice but to install a VM OS on host Debian 10, then add Guest Additions, then within the VM create another VM, i.e. the genymotion android phone.
