Black screen

Post by abecidofugy »

Hello,

I just wanted to point out that I found a solution to the black screen you get with Virtualbox in Version 6.1.12 r139181 (Qt5.6.2) after logging in the guest OS (KDE neon for me).

You should do a [Host key] + F than a [Host key] + L and you get the integrated mode (mode I always use with my guest OSes).

That's all!

I see you posted about a black screen in your guest before: viewtopic.php?f=3&t=95118&p=459989#p459989

Maybe there's a solution underlying the workarounds. Start the guest from full power off, not save-state. Run until you see the problem happen, then shut down the guest from within the guest OS if possible. If not possible, close the Virtualbox window for the guest with the Power Off option set.

Please right-click the guest in the main Virtualbox window's guest list, choose Show Log. Save the far left tab's log, zip the log file, and post the zip file, using the forum's Upload Attachment tab.
