Troubleshooting boot loop

I've done some searching, but there seems to be very unique circumstances with each thing I find. Hoping someone here with experience can look at the logs and help find a solution to what I am experiencing.
I have a VMDK file. I have created a VM and added that as the only storage device under "Controller: SATA" besides optical.
When I start normally, it shows it is booting Windows 7, but then stops and shows a blue screen and goes into a loop just repeating that over and over.
I've given it 2GB ram out of 8GB on host.
I've enable 1 physical core and it is a dual core i3.
Video memory is at 128 MB
Graphics controller is VboxSVGA, and 3D virtualization is enabled.
I confirmed VT-x is enabled in host bios.

Btw, I can "play" this VM in VMWare fine. I don't have workstation pro.

I don't see anything egregious in the log. The guest boots from the hard disk, runs some five seconds-ish, then reboots. No indication of the "blue screen" code is provided. You will have to tell us what is the error code Windows 7 gives you.

What you have essentially done is taken the drive out of one computer and put it in another computer. All the hardware is different. FWIW the OS will most likely try to reactivate.

Windows 7 and other are known to complain if the disk controller has changed. This might be the BSOD code. If you find that the code is 7B then I think that's a true bill. Websearch 'Windows 7 P2V site:forums.virtualbox.org'. Though your guest OS is already virtual, the principles of P2V apply to switching hypervisors.
