Hi,
I have been going round in circles for ages trying to install VXGuestAdditions on my VirtualBox Linux RHEL machine. My desktop is Windows 8.1. Basically it says bzip2 is not found so I am trying to get the bzip2 install file to the linux server but can't do it.
There is no network on the linux machine because Guest Additions is not installed.
I can't install Guest Additions because it needs bzip2.
I can't share a folder as it needs Guest Additions.
I can't ssh / sftp between the servers as there is no network link.
Can't use FileZilla for same reason.
Any ideas gratefully welcome !!
George

Please tell us how you determined this. Is it an error message in the guest window? If so please take a screenshot of the exact error message. Crop and resize the picture to get under the forum's 128kB size limit, then post the picture file, using the forum's Upload Attachment tab.George64 wrote:Guest Additions ... needs bzip2.
If you have the file you need, you can make an ISO CD image using various free ISO image makers available on the internet (I use ImgBurn), or the 'Choose/Create a disk image' command available when you right-click the guest's CD drive in the main Virtualbox window's list of the guest's Storage settings.

OK, I see that error. Try the last paragraph in my post above to use a CD ISO image to get the file into the guest OS through the guest's CD drive.

Cheers I'll try that
