I installed "VirtualBox-6.1.12-139181-Win" on my Dell Latitue Laptop (Windows 10).

Since I have installed the Virtual box, the Wifi Connectivity has become extremely bad. From 100+ Mbps consisten speed before installing the Virtualbox, it has reduced to 2 to 3 Mbps patchy (keeps getting disconnected).

I tried some of the solutions mentioned on the Forums, however it doesn't help (eg. Uninstalled Virtualbox, diabled the network adapter, flushed DNS, release/renew Ipconfig).

I really wated to use Virtualbox, but in current situation, I am unable to use even my laptop.

Highly appreciate your help and guidance in getting the Wifi issue sorted out.

Regards

Open the Start menu, then type "Control Panel". When the Control Panel appears, open it, then open 'Network and Sharing Center'. On the left pane, click 'Change Adapter Settings". Right-click the Wi-fi adapter, choose Properties.

You'll see a box like this:

Find the "Virtualbox NDIS 6 Bridged Networking Driver" and uncheck its box. In the screenshot above, the box is already unchecked.

Click OK, then reboot your PC.

Let us know how the Wi-Fi behaves.

"Virtualbox NDIS 6 Bridged Networking Driver" was already unchecked. I have rebooted my system as well.
But no avail, the wifi is extremely slow :-( .

OK, thanks for trying that. Try this:

Uninstall Virtualbox, then reboot. Confirm that your Wi-fi has restored good operation.

Then reinstall Virtualbox, this time turning off "Bridged networking" in the installer options. See what you get.

I did uninstall Virtual Box, but still the same. I see my wifi speed is now moved from 2-3 Mbps to 3-4 Mbps and still extremely patchy.

I hope I don't have to go for OS reinstall now.

You uninstalled Virtualbox and still had the bad network speed before reinstalling? Or are you saying a bit unclearly that you uninstalled and reinstalled?

And what about uninstalling and reinstalling with Bridged networking turned off?

It doesn't sound like your network problems have anything to do with VirtualBox.

I tend to disagree, My all other devices (including Mobile phone) is able to get 100+ Mbps speed on Wifi.

Laptop on which I had installed Virtual Box on Aug-29th was able to get 100+Mbps speed till Aug-29th through Wifi.

Please elaborate the reason why you are making such an statement.

VirtualBox pretty clearly can't interfere with anything when it isn't even installed.

All my other devices get 100+ Mbps speed. And my this laptop (company provided) which used to work fine before I installed Virtualbox is completely screwed up. My personal Laptop is working fine (I never installed Virtualbox on my personal laptop).

I tried reinstalling virtualbox, used Bridged connection (as pointed by other moderator) but no avail. The connection speed is still pretty bad.
If there is no solution in sight, then I will be forced to go ahead with reinstall of Windows 10 OS on my company Laptop.

Kindly advice.

Usually, when a program is uninstalled, it no longer is present on the computer to cause further trouble.

Your laptop is acting unusually. In the vast majority of cases Virtualbox does not cause the kind of trouble you are having. It is quite likely that a driver conflict occurred.

If you have the option to get your company to save your data then re-image the laptop, that sounds like the best way for you to proceed. Then ask them about running Virtualbox on the company laptop, they can probably tell you if it is allowed, then how to make it work well.

Thanks for your response. BTW, I had tried couple of other options, so just documenting them:

1. Installed new Network Drivers from Dell's website
2. Reset my Lincsys router

Nothing helped with the Network speed.

Probably only thing that isn't tried is to change something in the Registry keys, as I am Unix/Linux person I am not sure of what to change/how to change in the Windows 10 Dell Laptop.

I will try few more options in next few days. If nothing works, may be in a week's time I will get my Laptop Re-installed in next week. In case I find a solution, I shall update here.

Anyways, thanks for your help.
