Start the guest from full power off, not save-state. Run until you see the problem happen, then shut down the guest from within the guest OS if possible. If not possible, close the Virtualbox window for the guest with the Power Off option set.
Please right-click the guest in the main Virtualbox window's guest list, choose Show Log. Save the far left tab's log, zip the log file, and post the zip file, using the forum's Upload Attachment tab.
Also, please right-click the guest in the main Virtualbox window's guest list, choose "Show in Explorer/Finder/File Manager". In the window that opens, zip the guest's .vbox file, and post the zip file, using the forum's Upload Attachment tab.

Did you create an empty directory
/home/username/linux_free beforehand?

I don't know if it is important, but in the Virtualbox manual the command is:
mount -t vboxsf [-o OPTIONS] sharename mountpoint
You have "mount.vboxsf".
Your guest log shows the shared folder being injected into the guest environment.
I tried the manual's command in a Linux guest, got a similar 'mount point does not exist.' error. I'll have to let the Linux gurus take it from here.
One other thing, though this probably won't cause this problem: your Extension Pack is a version number behind. EP should match Virtualbox's version number.

To expand your Linux knowledge:
mount -t <x> implicitly tries to execute
/sbin/mount.<x>. Using this plugin design allows to add or remove support for filesystems without having to change the global
mount program.

Some ideas (you've already checked the 1st one):
Check if the target directory exists and is empty. Check ownership and permissions of the target directory and of its parent directory. If you want to mount the directory with user rights, try using
mount with user rights, and try the
-v option to get verbose information.
