.vdi lost

Post by zuuluu »

Howdy,

I have mounted a Veracrypt volume just to find out that one of the two VBox machines on that volume is inaccessible. When I look into the volume I can see that this machine folder is empty - no .vdi file. However I did not delete it. What's strange is that the volume is as big as it would be with the .vdi file. The Trash folder is also empty.

Anyone knows how to resurrect the .vdi file? I'm scared of re-mounting the volume as this could purge the file definitely.

Zip the guest's .vbox file, and post the zip file, using the forum's Upload Attachment tab.

Sure, it's here.

edit: PM me for password, I cannot message you for some reason.

Mod edit: encrypted attachment "clone.vbox.rar" deleted.

Well, this is a new one.

I just deleted the encrypted rar file that you posted. These forums are a intended to be a public resource available to all VirtualBox users equally. Resources which require a private password to extract are incompatible with the goals of these forums. If you want to participate here, that's good. If you don't, then don't. There is no halfway house unless you want to pay Oracle for a personal support contract.
