Hi,
I have a couple of different guest OS's (Win10 and Windows Server 2016) running perfectly fine on my Windows 10 Host machine.
However, when i try to launch the VM's on a Windows Server 2016 Host (Azure VM) the VM's just hang on startup. I've looked at the logs but cannot see anything obvious that is causing the problems. I've attached the logs in hope that someone can spot something obvious.
Thanks in advance

Re: VM's not working on Windows Server 2016 Host
Sounds like this is nested virtualization. Virtualbox running in a Hyper-V-related VM. Perhaps also indicated by this:tringo0808 wrote:Azure VM

If you somehow got your guest disks to try to turn from a 7zip archive, change this. Running inside a zip archive is probably really not supported. If this is just a folder name, then that's OK.00:00:03.121860 File system of 'E:\CM\hdp-cdmv6\HDP Windows Server 2016.7z\HDP Windows Server 2016\HDP Windows Server 2016.vdi' is ntfs
This is the wrong template for 10 or 2016.00:00:03.116689 Guest OS type: 'WindowsNT_64'
Try making a new guest, see what happens.tringo0808 wrote:when i try to launch the VM's on a Windows Server 2016 Host (Azure VM)
Keep in mind that though nested virtualization can work with different hypervisor layers, it is usually supported only when the different layers are from the same hypervisor. As in Virtualbox > guest with Virtualbox > nested guest.
