[Solved} Problem with linux (with VB 6.10 and suse 15.1 linux) not recognising increase in virtual dynamic disk size.
Linux host would not see the partition that was increased in size . Solution was I had to DETACH the virtual drive (VDI FILE) from the VBOX VM entry
and then re-add it to the VM profile for my linux VM. Then i was able to see the new added disk space partition size in linux. Note you still have to first tell the kernel to recognise
the new drive size and then update the filesystem (BRTFS in my case) to use the increased size of the dynamic hard disk.
I might add that the dynamic disk did not grow on its own ...but had to be increased of course with linux partitions unmounted and i used
gparted external utility to grow the linux partition. Note i have not tried this with VBOX 6.12 ,,but doubt it was fixed. Not sure
why you have to detach the storage VDI file and reattach to get VM system to recognize the added space on VDI drive.

I'm not certain one has to detach the drive file at all. I believe that How to Resize a Drive doesn't mention having to. Might have been a glitch?
