I am experiencing an issue where my CD/DVD drive gets stuck closed. For my system, Ubuntu Hardy with an XP Pro guest (that started life as a VMWare image), when the CD/DVD drive is empty I can not get it to open until I shut the guest OS down. This only happens when the drive is empty and after using it at least once. When there is a disc in the drive, I do not have this problem. Strange bug indeed.

Here's a follow up. I was able to get the drive to open if I right-click on the VBox CD drive icon at the bottom of the window and select "unmount". Even though there is this workaround, the bug still exists because no CD is mounted in the drive to begin with. It does not release the CD drive even though I ejected and removed the disc.
