Connecting a USB device to a guest VM

I use VirtualBox 6.1 on a Windows 10 host PC.
I want to perform tests with a USB WiFi network interface.
I created a guest Windows 10 VM and I want to connect the USB WiFi network interface to the guest VM, but I don't want to make it (and the related drivers) installed by the Windows 10 host.
I see I can connect the USB device to the guest VM, but only after installing it on the host PC.
Is it correct?
How can I connect the USB device to the guest without installing it on the hosdt?
Regards
marius

This is not necessary. USB devices that have no drivers for the host OS can still be used in guest OS's that do have drivers for the device.

Carefully go through USB basics and troubleshooting. If you finish all the steps 1-7 and cannot get your USB device into the guest OS, carefully post the outputs of the commands in step 8 as text in

Code: Select all

tags, not screenshots. Zip and post the log step 8 calls for, using the forum's Upload Attachment tab.
