Cant reboot WindowsServer 2016

Post by Slimm »

Hi everyone,

I use two Windows Server 2016 VMs on my Linux (Debian Buster) host.

Everytime I restart the VM (with the restart button inside Windows or "restart now" after installing updates) the VM goes down but never comes up (the status is active but nothing happens).
Also a manually "controlvm poweroff" ends in: "0......" for hours. After a restart of the host everything works fine and the VM start as usual.

Maybe someone could help me how to fix it. The problem occurs on both machines everytime I restart them.

The saved state is corrupt. Either Discard Saved State..., or resume your VM and shut it down from inside the guest OS. Afterwards, your problem should be solved.
