[SOLVED] Guru Meditation - First run of CentOS 7 install ISO
Posted: 20. Jun 2020, 08:30
I am attempting to create a new VM and install CentOS 7.
- I start the VM, and select "Install CentOS 7".
- The VM screen turns gray, and I get the Guru Meditation critical Error crash.
Notes:
- VirtualBox v6.1.8 r137981
- Host is Windows 10 Pro 10.0.18363
- Hyper-V is not enabled as far as I can tell.
- I have allocated a very small fraction of my system RAM to the VM.
Please see the attached log, if anyone as time.
Thank You.

The choice of animal is appropriate: Your guest is running, just really slow. Or it might guru-meditate. This is because a service that uses Microsoft Hyper-V is running on your host PC. Normally Hyper-V blocks Virtualbox. But your PC is of the type and OS where Virtualbox can attempt to run the guest using the Hyper-V engine. This arrangement is still being developed and isn't 100% yet.
