I have Ubuntu 18.04 running as a guest VM in VirtualBox 6.1 on my Win 10. Everything is perfect except that I have encountered this application error serval times. It occurs like every a few minutes.

The error message is:
Instruction at 0x00007FF963208161 referenced memory at 0x00 The memory could not be read.

It seems never happened until I used the "insert Guest Additions CD image ..." feature to obtain a full-screen resolution.

Any ideas on what might be the cause? The log file is attached.

Elliot

00:00:02.180879 Executable: D:\Program Files\Oracle\VirtualBox\VirtualBoxVM.exe
Seems Virtualbox was not installed in the default C: drive location. This is a common mistake folks make to try to keep their C drive from filling up. (Note that your main boot drive might have been set to D, and the above comment would then be moot.)

You have 3D acceleration on and 64MB video RAM. More video RAM? 128MB or 256 if possible.

The crash appears to be related to 'igdumdim64.dll', an Intel integrated graphics driver. Try updating host graphics drivers?
