I have Ubuntu running as a guest VM in VirtualBox 6.1. Works great. Love it. Performance and stability are awesome.
I went to enable encryption on the VM. It went through the process of encrypting the VM. Once completed when I try and power up the VM I enter the password for it and then immediately get the following message:
Instruction at 0x00007FFB355C278E referenced memory at 0x10 The memory could not be read.
The VM never boots. The only change is encrypting it. I have a backup of the VM and have tried this multiple times with various alterations in my approach but so far I simply cannot encrypt this VM.
While it's not the end of the world if I can't encrypt it I would like to resolve the issue because there will be VMs that I do want to encrypt.
Is this a known issue? Any ideas on what might be the cause?

Haven't heard of this before. If the Virtualbox window is open, the guest vbox.log should be writing. Please right-click the guest in the main Virtualbox window's guest list, choose Show Log. Save the far left tab's log, zip it, and post the zip file, using the forum's Upload Attachment tab.

Thank you Scott for the reply.
Attached is the log file immediately after encrypting the VM and trying to launch it.
Since I am clueless about it and also since I have successfully encrypted Windows VMs I am very hopeful you will have a good idea what may be causing the issue. Appreciate your kindness.

You're experiencing a crash inside VBoxDD.dll, while using disk encryption on a VHD file attached to the VirtIO-SCSI interface. This combination is not very common amongst VirtualBox users. I suggest to create a ticket in the Bugtracker.
