VM and Virtualbox UI hangs during boot

Post by jan2ary »

Hi all,
I have Windows 10 1909 Build 18363.836 (i7, 32Gb RAM) as a host, Virtual Box 6.1.10, and Ubuntu 20.04 as a guest with GUI enabled (8GB RAM, Guest Additions installed).
The problem is that VM and Virtualbox UI hang during boot and become unresponsive. What I can do with them is to kill from Task Manager only.
The same behavior was on 6.1.8, but on 6.0.22 the same VM works fine.
Thanks.

I'm seeing mention of Vagrant in the log. Was this a Vagrant install or Vagrant VM?

It could also be hardening related, since I'm seeing a lot of third party AV stuff (e.g. ZoneAlarm) listed in the hardening log.

This is vagrant VM installed from vagrantup box ubuntu/focal64.
Could you suggest me any steps to find out a resolution for this?

We don't support Vagrant installations here, we have absolutely no idea what they do with them. Vagrant have their own support site.

If you are willing to remove all Vagrant stuff and reinstall Virtualbox from www.virtualbox.org, then we could help. If you are, do the purge & reinstall, then post new logs.
