Virtbox acting strange on windows host

Good afternoon, been using Virtbox on my windows machine for a few months now, ran several servers on it so far, all on debian or ubuntu. Trying my hand at freeIPA when seems to run best on centos. However centos has been a nightmare. intermittently the vm wont even boot, crashing at random points in the boot up process, then when it comes time to install freeipa, im getting errors about dns servers and pki not being able to run.

I turn around and do the same process on my mac, flawless.

Can anyone tell me any windows nuances i need to know about? or what it might be?

I have an idea, but I'd need to see a log.

Start the guest from full normal shutdown, not save-state. Run until you see the problem happen, then shut down the guest from within the guest OS if possible. If not possible, close the Virtualbox window for the guest with the Power Off option set.

Right-click the guest in the main Virtualbox window's guest list, choose Show Log. Save the far left tab's log, zip it, and post the zip file, using the forum's Upload Attachment tab.
