I am running VirtualBox 6.1.6 on a Windows10 host.
From my company I have a bootable USB stick which connects to the companies VPN server.
The USB consists of 4 partitions (10MB FAT EFI boot, 48MB primary partition, 1001MB primary partition, 2.70GB unassigned)
When booting from stick it will start an Ubuntu Linux system, so I assume the both primary partitions are RAW or EXT (doesnt show in diskmanager)

What I want is to clone the stick to my host and boot it from within VirtualBox.
My knowledge of Linux and programming is zero to none
Is there an easy way? I couldnt find anything so far.

I would image the USB drive using Disk2VHD, convert the VHD to VDI using CloneVDI, then build a new VM around the VDI.

For clarity: the VirtualBox BIOS has no USB support, so you can't just boot from the USB stick. I don't think you can boot from a virtual USB stick either.

Thanks for the quick reply.

Problem with Disk2VHD (found this one earlier) is that you can only select volumes.
The 2 primary partitions, which probably hold the OS doenst have driveletters assigned (see image, sorry for the link)

Disk2VHD definitely allows you to select drives (as its name implies), otherwise it wouldn't have a purpose, and we wouldn't have suggested it.

I have used the following to achieve it (you set me on the right track)!
Create a RAW image using the free tool HDDRawCopy
Converted the IMG to VDI using the VirtualBox tool VBoxManage
Linked the .vdi to a new machine and success!
