ALSA driver and microphone

Hello,

is anybody able to run working microphone on linux guest with alsa driver?
I get recording program hanging on clean OS.

I run 'rec -n' from root shell and it can only get terminated with SIGKILL.
I tried Intel HD Audio as well as AC97 with the same result.
