USB 2.0 causes XP guest to freeze while booting

Post by firecat53 »

Hi. I'm running vbox 2.0.2 on archlinux 64 bit host, w/ Windows XP guest running from an existing XP installation. It works awesome, and USB works as long as the USB 2.0 controller is disabled. If it's enabled, the guest will freeze during the Windows XP splash screen while booting. Any ideas on how to get USB 2.0 working? I can't seem to find other people with a similar problem.

My config info is below:

XP Virtual Machine config
Virtualbox config

Let me know what other info I can provide.

Thanks!
Scott

I still can't solve this. Any ideas? I've tried uninstalling the guest additions and deleting the USB driver from XP, but no luck.

Here's the Vbox.log from startup until I poweroff the VM after it locks up at the XP splash screen.
