only cursor and black screen when boot from image

Post by arceajin »

Hi all
When I boot the VM it only shows the black screen with a blinking cursor.
I checked the BIOS, VT-X is enabled. Windows Hyper-V is also disabled.
VM Log didn't show VT-X error. What could be the problem?

Hyper-V et al is off, good:
00:00:05.226188 HM: HMR3Init: VT-x w/ nested paging and unrestricted guest execution hw support
RAM request is too tight, this needs to be reduced. Try 2GB:
00:00:05.116980 Host RAM: 8026MB (7.8GB) total, 3551MB (3.4GB) available
00:00:05.225818 RamSize <integer> = 0x0000000100000000 (4 294 967 296, 4 096 MB, 4.0 GB)
Things that might help performance:
Ubuntu 18.04 might want more video ram & 3D acceleration:
00:00:05.226059 [/Devices/vga/0/Config/] (level 4)
00:00:05.226060 3DEnabled <integer> = 0x0000000000000000 (0)
00:00:05.226068 VRamSize <integer> = 0x0000000001000000 (16 777 216, 16 MB)
Ubuntu might also like a bit more CPU, try 2 but not all 4:
00:00:05.225814 NumCPUs <integer> = 0x0000000000000001 (1)
00:00:06.116300 CPUM: Physical host cores: 4
