Hi ,

The 'Auto Resize' is not working and 'Auto Resize Guest Display' is grayed out .

Host : Windows
Guest : 4.1.12-124.38.1.el7uek.x86_64 (Oracle Linux 7)
Virtual Box : Version 6.0.20 r137117 (Qt5.6.2)

It used to work earlier , after upgrading the Guest OS to 'Oracle Linux7' , it stopped working .

When I tried to 'Insert guest additions CD image' and install guest additions , getting below error
----------------------------------
VirtualBox Guest Additions: Building the modules for kernel
4.1.12-124.38.1.el7uek.x86_64.
VirtualBox Guest Additions: Running kernel modules will not be replaced until
the system is restarted
---------------------------

And also , please note that , since above step not working , I have installed them manually using steps mentioned at oracle blog

But still I cannot resize it , please help .

Thanks
Ravi

Your problem is that the Guest Additions are only partially installed and that suggests that the VM may not be set up to build the kernel modules, as the required Linux packages are not usually part of a standard Linux Distro installation.

See Guidance Section 4.2.2.1 of the VirtualBox User Guide (Installing the Linux Guest Additions) and the linked Section 2.3.2 (The Oracle VM VirtualBox Kernel Modules) if you get an error message indicating that your installation isn't set up to build the Kernel Modules. You can Access the User Guide via the VirtualBox Manager Help Menu > Contents...

Can't be much more specific as the detailed procedure varies between different Linux distros, depending on which CLI commands are used.
