Hi all,

On a windows host, with a unix guest in seamless mode, is it possible to view the guest's desktop instead of the hosts?

Thanks

This seems like a rather strange question.

By definition, seamless mode hides the guest desktop.

Why is it odd? In what way does "seamless" imply which desktop one would should see? If anything, if it was truly seamless I'd have thought you would see both, but it's understandable why this isn't possible. The dektop in my linux host is more valuable to me than my Windows host so it would be great to have the ability to either use that, or swap between. In the meantime I'd be satisfied with just having my linux guest desktop if such a thing is possible.

With seamless, it's meant that you don't see that you run a virtual machine. All you see is the applications you run on the VM in your Host system. Not the other way around.

Thanks for clearning that up. I'll try installing a linux host and just running windows as a guest.

I was also wondering about this. I found pressing the sow desktop button on the guest showed the guest desktop, but it would be handy to be able to use the guest desktop all the time?

You can use Full Screen if you want to use the Guest desktop. Though you do lose the nice integration of both OSes as one and the taskbar/panels of the Host ;).
