Hi. Would like to seek your help on this. I'm running the VirtualBox image from Oracle below. I was able to launch the guest system but it will always ran into an error (see attached file for the screenshot and log file).
I have followed the this document: soa-virtualbox-122110-readme-3102657.pdf
VirtualBox version: 6.1

Re: Guest system closing
I don't know if this is the problem, but you have VMSVGA graphics selected, and 5.0.22 Guest Additions installed, which is far too old to recognize the new VMSVGA controller (introduced in VirtualBox v6).
Other things I notice: RAM allocation is too high for my taste (11GB available, 10GB allocated). 4 out of 4 available CPU cores is allocated, leaving the host with fumes to run with. This will cause performance problems, the most I would assign is 2 cores. Graphics RAM is 64MB, I would set to 128MB.
Finally and most importantly:

Finally and most importantly:
Hyper-v is enabled on the host, meaning VirtualBox will run like a snail if it runs at all.00:00:03.626419 HM: HMR3Init: Attempting fall back to NEM: VT-x is not available

Thanks!
Currently applying the changes as mentioned. Will update afterwards.

Re: Guest system closing
Thanks again!
The guest system is now running for sometime and was able to launch different applications in it and haven't encountered the same error still. Below are the changes I made.
1. Remove Hyper-V from the host Windows 10 machine
2. Adjust the video memory to 128.

Re: Guest system closing
... and updated the Guest Additions, right? Or downgraded the graphics controller to VBoxVGA (not VBoxSVGA).
... and the 10GB RAM issue?

Re: Guest system closing
I kept the 10GB memory. Oracle says provide 8GB at least, I have 16GB on my host machine and I'm not running anything else on it apart from VirtualBox. While monitoring the host resources, I do not exceed 13GB. The guest system has database, SOA, etc running.
I used "VMSVGA" and installed the 6.1.6r Extension Pack on the guest system.
The guest system also comes with JDeveloper, but unfortunately, I could not launch it properly. I tried to start it without the SOA, WebLogic, etc same issue.

My comments were not speculative - I quoted the log file to you. You had 11GB free, so 10GB was uncomfortably close to that. I would go with 8GB for the VM.marlon.c wrote:I kept the 10GB memory. That's good.marlon.c wrote:I used "VMSVGA" and installed the 6.1.6r Extension Pack on the guest system.
These are VirtualBox user discussion forums hosted by Oracle, but not run by them. We have no knowledge of other Oracle products here.marlon.c wrote:The guest system also comes with JDeveloper, but unfortunately, I could not launch it properly.
