I'm not sure how long I've been dealing with this or what started it. It was an annoyance, and I just lived with it.
Virtualbox is working fine. However, the GUI has white text on a white background . If I mouse over something that is supposed to change text rendition in response to a mouse over, it does. If I click on something, I get a modal dialog box . Everything works fine, it's just annoying.
I tried upgrading from 6.0 to 6.1 and not only did that not fix the problem, but my guests stopped running. So I removed Virtualbox altogether and reverted back to 6.0.14_Ubuntur132055. I'm not sure I had a compelling use case to update, at least not now.
I am using ubuntu mate 19.10 and the 5.3.0-46 kernel.
What other information would be useful?
Many thanks,
Jeff

Re: VirtualBox GUI has white text on a white background
I am experiencing the same issue.
Strangely the setting dialog box as per the Ubuntu theme. It is very difficult to use for now.
Please help. Thanks.

Re: VirtualBox GUI has white text on a white background
I have a fuzzy recollection that a Linux Hosts poster found some settings that had to be put in the QT system to fix graphics glitches in Linux Virtualbox. Probably in the last few weeks here in the Linux Hosts forum. Being a Windows guy, I didn't note the commands, but if you read through the forum you might find a pertinent post or two.
Also note if you are using a Virtualbox that came with your Linux you might be using the forked version that the Linux distro maintains. Try the official Virtualbox from https://www.virtualbox.org/wiki/Linux_Downloads.
