Network problem on Windows guest

Hi there,

I have noticed a strange behavior on my windows xp sp3 host. This virtual machine has a static ip address in the same subnet as the host (of course!), which works generally very well, but sometimes (i can NOT define under what circumstances!), the connection to computers in a different subnet broke down. At that time i only can ping computers in the same subnet ...

When i switch to the host (which is Vista x64 using the same brifge as well), i can ping all computers -the guest, too- and after that, the guest also reconnects to all subnets!

So it seems, that the guest connection pauses some time(s) and needs a "push" from the host. :?

Anyone can confirm this or can help me?
(I only have seen this with 2.0.2 - never had this with 2.0)

Best regards & a nice weekend,
Ruth

Update:

I have noticed, that the client has sometimes problems with its internet connection. The client is a "test user system", so it is restricted to use our proxy server ...
This morning I tried to open several links with IE, which causes the browser to "detect proxy settings" for some seconds and then telling me, that there is no internet connection available. I then opened a command prompt on the HOST and send a ping to our proxy server, which answered immediately. I went back to the guest, opened the link again ... and voila: Connection established!!!

Any suggestions?

The problem still exist: If I get the connection problems on my XP guest, I start a command line with a PING-command to our gateway => no responses!

Then I start a command line on the Vista host, try the same ping command, which responses immediately and two seconds later the ping on the guest response too!

I guess there is a problem with the network bridge, but I have no idea how to solve it.
