Failed to load unit 'pgm'

Post by Neil B »

(VERR_SSM_INTEGRITY_REC_TERM_CRC)

RESULT CODE: e_fail (0X80004005)
Component: ConsoleWrap
Interface: IConsole
{872da645-4a9b-1727-bee2-5585105b9eed}

Has been working fine since install about 2 months ago.

Host os: Win10Prox64, 8GB memory.
Guest os: XP Pro

Not the direct result of a windows update, as updates are set to manual, and have not been run recently.

Any suggestions on getting the machine running again?

Did you update Virtualbox while the guest was in a saved state? Googling "VERR_SSM_INTEGRITY_REC_TERM_CRC" seems to indicate a saved state is involved, and something may have gone wrong or been changed that no longer matches what the saved state expects to find in the real world to match up to.

If the guest is save-stated and you did upgrade Virtualbox, downgrade to the version you had when the guest was save-stated. It should come back up. Then you can shut it down normally, not save-state, then upgrade Virtualbox.

Or you can right-click the guest in the guest list and click "Discard saved state". Whatever unsaved data in the guest will be lost, but the guest should be able to start again.
