New User issue, cannot launch CentOS7 VM

Hello,
first off I have not used this specific tool before but I have used VMWARE and Citrix. My PC currently runs VMWARE well. I have a Linux admin course i got and it wants Virtualbox, which has had no end of oddities. Even had to do a reinstall of it and delete my VMs and start over.

Before the reinstall of virtualbox (current version i downloaded today) when launching the virtual machine it would put an immediate error with no info stating there was an error, OK.
From the class I have it might hesitate and claim it needs to install the OS, that is fine, I have the ISO I was needing, Cent OS7, current ISO from today. After a while and some googleing I found most everything at some point said reinstall Virtualbox and restart.
OK, did that, not I have a new error. I remade my VM and gave it a shot. It took a minute I thought it was working then I got an error that directed me here and asked me to give you all my log file (attached).
Currently I do have the ISO attached to the VM, so I am at a loss.

Can I get some direction, I am trying to do this course and being able to create the stuff as I am instructed would really be helpful.

OK cant post a link of it either, I have a DB link available to anyone who wants it.

OK, I tested an Ubuntu ISO and made a VM and it worked just fine. Thought OK, I got a bad ISO. Got a different ISO, form a different site for CentOS7 (version 1908) and an identical error.

Now when I select the OS form the pulldown, as Cent is not there, what should I be trying? I have tried the generic Linux 2.6\3.x\4.x 64bit, and Linux 64 bit.

And if I leave it in an errored state in the background for a bit, it starts to make the screen flicker (whole system not just VM).

So there is something wrong there, but as I am new to Virtualbox and Linux both, I really have no idea.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

That dropdown is showing major families of OS, not aunts, uncles and cousins twice removed on the distaff side. When I start typing 'centos' as the new guest name in the New Guest Wizard, the dropdown automatically changes to 'Red Hat 64-bit'. CentOS being based on Red Hat, I'd say roll with Red Hat.

I reckon we're going to need to know what these errors are to help a bit more than we have been able to... 8)
Please post exact error messages. If the error box has a Copy button, use it to post the text of the error.

Logs can be zipped and posted using the forum's Upload Attachment tab, from first day first post.

Start the guest from full power off, not save-state. Run until you see the problem happen, then shut down the guest from within the guest OS if possible. If not possible, close the Virtualbox window for the guest with the Power Off option set.

Please zip and post a guest vbox.log, using the forum's Upload Attachment tab.

Thanks for the compressed idea, most places wont let you use those so I didn't try.

I cannot get into it at all, followed the process to make a VM launched it and in a few seconds I get an error screen, never gotten farther than a black background and an error message.

But I did make a different VM with Ubuntu and that was fine so I think that says that the VM software is more or less working.

Thankyou for the reply, I am eager to get back to my course. Please let me know if there is anything else you need.

In response to the error message clarification.

I had one that was literally "An error has occurred in (blank, the field was empty)

The other one I get is this:

A critical error has occurred while running the virtual machine and the machine execution has been stopped.

For help please see the community section on Https://www.virtualbox.org or your support contact. Please provide the contents of the log file vbox.log you can find it in D:\Virtual Box\VMs\CentOS7\Logs directory, as well as a description of what you were doing when this error happened. Note that you can also access the above files by selecting Show Log from the machine menu of the main virtual box window.

Press OK to power off the machine or press ignore if you want to leave it for debugging. Please note that the debugging requires special knowledge and tools, so it is recommended you press OK now.

OK Ignore

I get this error about 2-3 seconds after the virtual box splash screen that says press F12 to select boot device.
Set OS to Redhat64 and nothing changed.

Please compare the hash for your CentOS ISO to CentOS's hashes, to confirm the integrity of the ISO.

Please make a new guest, letting the New Guest Wizard use all its defaults, no changes, then try installing CentOS. Then please zip and post that vbox.log.

Also make a new guest for the Ubuntu ISO that worked, leave all the defaults, install Ubuntu, then zip and post that log too.
