Guru critical error on Ubuntu 64bit VM, Windows 10 host

Hi,

I'm trying to setup a VM using a minimal Ubuntu 16.04 64-bit install CD on a Windows 10 host. I create the machine using the default options, load the ISO in the optical drive and start. Things run fine at first, then I get to the main menu, choose 'Install', and get a critical error. I'm running the latest Vbox version (6.1.6).

I searched on the forums and tried various things.
- Checked that virtualization is enabled in BIOS.
- Checked that Hyper-V was unchecked in the Windows optional features.
- Disabled Hyper-V using the 'bcdedit /set hypervisorlaunchtype off' command line.
- Played around with various configurations of virtualization in the VM settings.

Nothing made a difference.
A minimal install CD of Ubuntu 16.04 32-bit works. So is a minimal install CD of Gentoo.

Any tips to solve this?
Thanks in advance.

(I'm not including the PNG since it's just an 800x600 black screen)

Why so stingy with the RAM/VRAM and CPU? Try bumping it all up to something reasonable for a 64bit guest OS. E.g. 2048MB RAM, 128MB graphics RAM, 2 cores.

If you still get the triple fault then download the ISO again, or if this is a custom installer then contact the vendor.

Redownloading the ISO did the trick.

Thanks for the help !
