Virtual box hardening error.
Hello! I am trying Virtualbox for the first time. I am running a Windows 7 host (64 bit) and trying to install Linux guest on Virtualbox. I got an error( error code 0x80004005, Vbox hardening) and have tried all the suggestions on previous posts that I saw, but still, no show. Please, I would be grateful for help. Thanks.

Re: Virtual box hardening error.
You have something loaded that hacks DLLs. I'm going to guess that you installed a third party theme manager in your Win7 host.

Thanks very much for that! But I don't have another theme manager - only windows'.

Re: Virtual box hardening error.
VirtualBox did not identify SmadAV specifically or I would have mentioned it. However the FAQ I linked you to already tells you to test the effect of disabling all third party AV.
There is no way for me to be more "specific" that I already have been. Only you know what software is installed on your PC. The FAQ will give guidance only.

Re: Virtual box hardening error.
I think I have "done" it! I started it with Headless start, and now, it's running but showing "No bootable medium found! System halted." Meanwhile, the .iso file is already on it.
Any tips please? Thanks very much!

Re: Virtual box hardening error.
If you can reliably start headless or detachable, but cannot start normal, that probably means that your host video drivers aren't security-signed completely. Try a host video driver update.
The 'fatal' warning means that none of the media attached to the guest had a bootable OS. Check that the ISO is really a bootable CD image (downloads from Linux distros almost always are LiveCDs so they should be bootable, if the download is good). Also check that the ISO is really in the guest's CD drive, and that the guest's boot order has the optical drive before the hard disk.
If you continue to have issues not related to the hardening issue above, post other issues in a new topic. Forum rules request one issue per thread.
