Problems removing a failed VM?

Post by VBoxHeroes »

Hello all, having a problem with a deleted machine still taking up space on my hard drive. I was setting up a VM with 600GB of hard drive space, because I need it to work with a rather large file, but unfortunately my computer was shut off in the middle of creating it. I have deleted the entire folder that encompassed that VM, but it still seems to be taking up the space and I cannot seem to free up that space. Any help with this issue?

If the VM folder is gone then VirtualBox is no longer using the space. I suggest you check and empty your recycle bin.

User Manual section 10.1 - Where Oracle VM VirtualBox Stores its Files.
