i am running windows 10. i am trying to install virtual box 6.0.4, 6.0.10, 4.3.40, 6.1.4
installation is getting failed by fatal error after whole installation it rollback and delete all files..
after a lot of search i found it that its due to host only adapter.. i tried to install again virtual box but select not to install network adapters and its installed..
now i want adapters.. host only adapter i try to add host only adapter from File>hostnetworkmanager and also from vboxmanage but its not able to create adapter and giving error (Querying NetCfgInstanceId failed (0x00000002).)
i am not using any additional firewall or antivirus other then builtin

i have tried this methods
1) disable signature driver enforcement
2) disable antivirus and firewall(i can''t find how to uninstall it)
3) inf cache method. (%windir%\inf\INFCACHE.1 ) i cant find this file
4) installation, re-installation, with and without run as admin
5) deleting all registry containing virtual-box
6) uninstall iTunes
7) can;t find NDIS ADAPTER in my PC

is there anything else need to be checked please tell me as i need it on urgent basis

You won't be able to make Host-Only networks until you re-install with the Host-Only option turned on.

Virtualbox's installer is a Microsoft MSI program that is filled up with Virtualbox data. Microsoft provides debugging systems to figure out why an MSI-installer fails. Google for how to turn on MSI logging then uninstall Virtualbox, reboot, then install Virtualbox again, using the MSI logging.

Thoug we are not MSI expoerts, we might be able to see the problem in the MSI log. Please zip and post the MSI log, using the forum's Upload Attachment tab.

It is not common for the installer to have issues, so there is very likely something unusual about your PC that is causing the error.

i did all msi logs also and it was getting failed due to windows was not allowing to make host/bridge network adapters.. as soon as i install it without this options it was getting installed.. any how after long struggle my problem is solved i dont know how but i will explain things what i did.

after all above methods i found a microsoft easyfix 20159 and installed it.. but after installation it also turned off my laptop wifi and i was not able to create that adapter also and after that i run registry repair by GLARYSOFT and searched twice for registry fix and fixed arouud 300 registries (free version) and then i reboot my computer and boom wifi is working and also host network i can create
