[WorksForMe] Bridge connection failure
[WorksForMe] Bridge connection failure
Hi, my name is maximo, I am new to this,
I have the most recent version of virtual and since I updated it, I cannot connect in bridge, only by nat.
Everything was working fine until i update the new version.
I have two virtual machines and in both I have the same error.
Thanks!!
Failed to open/create the internal network 'HostInterfaceNetworking-Intel(R) Wireless-AC 9560 160MHz'

Re: Bridge connection failure
VirtualBox is telling you that the network card you want to bridge to does not exist. Check in Windows Device Manager, you'll find that the card has been renamed or removed.
Re: Bridge connection failure
thanks for the comment, reviewing I see that it has not been removed and have the same name.

Re: Bridge connection failure
Wireless adapters work poorly with VirtualBox bridge. And it may not even be adapter's fault. The remote endpoint may refuse multiple MAC's on the same connection.
If you had it working, you may consider yourself lucky.

No more unverified assertions please: all future such comments to be accompanied by evidence, e.g. a screenshot.sheistor wrote:thanks for the comment, reviewing I see that it has not been removed and have the same name.
If the network adaptor exists then look at its properties, in particular the services (network stack) attached to the card. Make sure that "VirtualBox NDISx Bridged Networking Driver" is present and selected (checked). If not present then reinstall VirtualBox and pay attention to the option features - install them all. If present but not checked then check it.

It is active, what I do not understand is that previously I could connect by bridge.

Re: Bridge connection failure
"Automatically" is a strange thing to say. Something caused the initial change in behaviour, and something else caused it to be fixed. It would have been nice to know what those things were.
p.s. This is a discussion topic, not a support ticket. We don't close a topic when the OP drops out.

I understand that it would be good to know the exact reason, but I don't have it. and excuse me I thought the issues were closing.

Re: Bridge connection failure
You can effectively close the discussion by adding Solved to the subject (as in this post viewtopic.php?f=1&t=96896 ).
If you know what got rid of the problem, it would be good if you could add that information to the post to help others. If you do not know, that is OK.

Re: Bridge connection failure
I'm reluctant to mark a topic solved when we don't know what the solution was. I guess Socratis would have used [WorksForMe] so I suppose I can do that too.
