When VM is done loading, window size is not the res chosen

Virtual Box 2.0.2 on Win XP Pro SP2 host.

Installed Mandriva 2009 RC1 and specified a 1400x1050 flat panel resolution.

Yet when that Mandriva VM is done loading, it is not defaulting to that specified resolution.

If I go into System Settings and choose the DISPLAY icon, it pops into 1400x1050 resolution without a problem.

Under Size & Orientation, it says:

VBOX1 (Connected)
Size: 1400x1050 (Auto) Refresh: 60.0 Hz
Orientation: No Rotation

The following entries just below are greyed out but say:

Position: Clone of (DROP DOWN BUTTON) VBOX1 (DROP DOWN BUTTON)

The green window to the right of that info says:

VBOX1
1400x1050 (60.0 Hz)

After it finally switches to 1400x1050 as specified, I have to go into PANEL SETTINGS in the KDE environment and manually drag the marker for the panel all the way to the far right of the 1400 pixel wide window. It doesn't resize / readjust automatically.

So, I guess I'm asking:

"How do I get Mandriva 2009 RC1 running in a VM created by VirtualBox 2.0.2 to load at the specified 1400x1050 pixels so that I do not have to manually "remind" the VM what the resolution should be the one it defaults to?"

I'd appreciate any helpful assistance you may be able to provide.

Thank you.

Is there no way to accomplish this? No setting in any of the dialogs or command line arguments or something?

Both of my Windows VM's startup at 1400x1050, but the Mandriva 2009 RC1 VM does not, even though it's clearly configured for that resolution inside of Mandriva itself.

I'd really appreciate some help to find out if this is possible to do.

Thanks

Do you have the Guest additions Installed? You don't mention this. Please have a look at the Forum Posting Guide for providing us with essential information so we can provice better assistance.

If you have the GA installed, did you enable auto Guest window resize option? You might need to disable this.

Thank you for your reply. I appreciate it.

Guest Additions is indeed installed.

I'll try the suggestion you made to disable that feature.

Again, thank you very much for helping.

Unfortunately, this did not work.

Once I enter the SYSTEM SETTINGS dialog in Mandriva, and then click on DISPLAY, the screen does go to 1400x1050.

But the only way that I can seem to ensure that the screen is at the 1400x1050 resolution when I re-enter it is to choose the following from the menu:

MACHINE > CLOSE > SAVE THE MACHINE STATE

When I recall the machine from that state, it shows the screen at a full 1400x1050 on my 1600x1200 host desktop.
