Debian guest hangs with a flickering cursor (after GRUB).
Latest VB installed.
Virtualisation enabled in the BIOS
Hyper-V not installed
bcdedit /set hypervisorlaunchtype off run from elevated shell to be sure.
I have assigned 2 CPU's, 2GB RAM and 32MB of VRAM
I have a GTX 7050.
Logs and spec attached.
Not sure what else to try as I've exhausted the suggestions in the forums.

Re: Debian XFCE Guest - not booting
The guest boots and gets a Guest Additions startup report:
Is this a new guest, or has it ever worked before? Did anything change on the host PC?
If it's an old, previously-working guest, and nothing has been changed or updated on the host, consider that the guest OS may have just developed a problem. Same thing happens on real PCs too, especially the commodity PCs that don't have the error-checking that servers have.
No issues with Hyper-V:00:00:05.493195 VMMDev: Guest Log: BIOS: Booting from Hard Disk... ..... 00:00:17.758971 VMMDev: Guest Additions information report: Version 5.2.0 r68940 '5.2.0'
Nothing egregious appears to me in the log.00:00:02.144579 HM: HMR3Init: VT-x w/ nested paging and unrestricted guest execution hw support

Re: Debian XFCE Guest - not booting
Thanks for replying.
It's a brand new guest. I've re-created it 3 times (just to make sure).
If it helps, the log files are here when it hangs

Re: Debian XFCE Guest - not booting
How very very odd.
1st machine I installed using the XFCE Live ISO which is about 2GB (had the issue)
2nd machine I installed using the full Debian ISO (4GB) selecting XFCE, and it works.
Thanks for looking into it.

Re: Debian XFCE Guest - not booting
Intriguing. Maybe the failing DVD left something essential out?

Re: Debian XFCE Guest - not booting
I think it's the bare minimum for an install.
Never had any problems with it before but at least I've found out the issue.
