Unable to get an Android guest machine
Unable to get an Android guest machine
Hi,
I try to get an Android guest machine. I've read several tutorials and use different .iso files but I always reboot on a text mode console (like in any Linux distribution). No real graphical Android start.
Does someone know what happens?

Re: Unable to get an Android guest machine
Read Mpack's report here: viewtopic.php?f=6&t=92683&start=15#p464073
Following this report I was able to run "android-x86_64-9.0-r1-k49.iso" and "android-x86_64-8.1-r3.iso".

Re: Unable to get an Android guest machine
That's an Android support question. For that you should go to whomever created that install image, and ask them what's different about it. The known working Android versions were already listed above.
Re: Unable to get an Android guest machine
I've tried what you call "working Android". They're not working for me.

Re: Unable to get an Android guest machine
Android 8 x86/Lineage OS 14 x86 work just fine under VBox. I had troubles running 9-rc2 - it didn't work. Without a log file, it's hard to help you.Binome wrote:I still got a black screen at boot like that:

Re: Unable to get an Android guest machine
I don't think a log file will be any help here. It won't show the Android version for example, nor the existence of virtual WiFi, nor any of a thousand other things that could go wrong in a particular installer.
Re: Unable to get an Android guest machine
My Android version for now is 9.0rc2 64 bits. And for the virtual Wifi, I don't know.

Which is not one of the working versions mentioned.Binome wrote:My Android version for now is 9.0rc2 64 bits.
Re: Unable to get an Android guest machine
Now it's 8.1-r3 and I've got exactly the same screen.

Re: Unable to get an Android guest machine
Android is not a supported guest OS, so I don't see what else we could do.

Re: Unable to get an Android guest machine
To the topic starter: again LineageOS 14 x86 works just fine in VirtualBox 6.1.4.
I really don't know what else to say.
