I'm running DEBIAN Stretch 64 bit. The VM was originally setup and running from a server which my machine was hardwired into. I recently exported the VM to my local machine and reimported it into virtual box. I'm now getting an issue where the VM boots but nothing prints on the the console after selecting the OS on the bios menu. It then crashes and a Guru Meditation Popup is displayed.
The VM settings were unchanged. I attached the logs and the popup that is displayed.

The tell-tale line is just before the Guru Meditation:

The workaround is to either:

Also, switch your video controller. You're using the VboxSVGA for Windows guests. Linux guests are supposed to use VMSVGA.

Re: VM crashing at start up - Guru Meditation Popup
Thanks for the reply. I ended up upgrading my VB version from 6.1.2 to 6.1.4 and that seemed to fix the issue.

Excellent! I'll update my copy pasta on this to show 6.1.4 is supposed to fix this.

Re: VM crashing at start up - Guru Meditation Popup
Great. I just want to be clear it was originally working with 6.1.2 so if this issue shows reappears with 6.1.4 I'll post in this thread so you can be aware. At that point ill prob downgrade to the version you suggested.
